Women, nonbinary, and LGBTQ+ are underrepresented within the hospitality, entertainment, and sports industries especially when it comes to ownership and executive roles.
Less than three percent of breweries are owned solely by women (Brewers Association, 2021).
According to the 2024 USC Inclusion in the Music Business study, women hold only 15.3% of senior leader roles, with Women of Color representing 5.3% of these roles across 77 music companies. In terms of songwriting, 18.9% of songwriters are women, while in production there is an even greater disparity, with women holding only 5.9% of producing credits.
There is a lack of funding and access to resources. We are building a space and network that helps women rise and increases representation within these industries.
